GMNI Kab. Tangerang Sesalkan Penyegelan Rumah Ibadah di Teluk Naga

TANGERANG,- Gerakan Mahasiswa Nasional Indonesia (GMNI) Kabupaten Tangerang menyayangkan tindakan penyegelan rumah ibadah di Kecamatan Teluk Naga oleh Pemerintah Kabupaten Tangerang. Tindakan ini dianggap sebagai kemunduran dalam penegakan hak kebebasan beragama di Indonesia.
Kepada Focus Tangerang, Ketua Cabang GMNI Kabupaten Tangerang, Endang Kurnia, menyatakan bahwa penyegelan rumah ibadah ini tidak hanya melukai hati umat Kristen, tetapi juga mengancam prinsip dasar negara yang menjamin kebebasan beragama.
“Negara menjamin kebebasan beragama, jangan sampai itu hanya menjadi slogan semata,” ujarnya.
Endang Kurnia juga menambahkan bahwa penyegelan ini dilakukan menjelang peringatan hari suci Paskah, yang seharusnya menjadi momen refleksi iman, bukan pengingat akan intoleransi.
“Ketika sekelompok masyarakat dapat memaksakan kehendak atas dasar mayoritas, dan negara terkesan abai atau bahkan ikut menekan minoritas, kita patut bertanya: masihkah Indonesia menjunjung tinggi keberagaman?” tanyanya.
GMNI Kabupaten Tangerang meminta pemerintah daerah untuk menjadi penjaga konstitusi dan tidak tunduk pada tekanan intoleran.
Mereka juga meminta pemerintah pusat untuk meninjau kembali praktik-praktik di lapangan yang bertentangan dengan semangat Bhinneka Tunggal Ika.
